Suggestions on how to use this play along:
1. Listen to the recording with the full band and follow along with the printed music.
2. Make note of the nuance, dynamics, length of notes, and releases. Then play along with the recording, minus the Baritone Saxophone part.
3. The solo chord changes are included if you’d like to take a ride. You might want to change things up and play a different instrument for variety on different days.
4. Crank up the volume so you can hear the band well enough. If using a phone or iPad use headphones. I recommend only using the headphones on one ear so you can hear your acoustic sound in the room. This is how music is recorded in a studio situation. Practicing this way will give you some experience in that type of environment.
5. And finally, dig in, swing hard, and have some fun playing these great charts penned by Tom Kubis. I hope you have as much fun playing these as I did recording them.
